I have read and re read the different e books when I need inspiration to do my work out. By the time I am 2 paragraphs in (to Female Fat Loss Over 40), I am ready to get my work out clothes on and go for it. I really enjoy the challenging work outs and the audio book with the different timing intervals makes it easy!! I am really enjoying your program, particularly these 2 months which are especially busy for me. I can’t always make it to Boot camp but I feel so much better when I exercise. Hey Shawna, I bought the FFLO about a month ago and have finally started using it on Tuesday. I quit waiting for Monday to start it. It's just been 3 days but I can already tell that it is working. I sleep better and want to eat better so that I'll see results. How can I mess up with menus and workouts spelled out for me? I know what I need to do and have worked with trainers over the years to know that your program will work. For me it has just been a matter of getting started. I gained 15 lbs over the winter and need to get it off. I was diagnosed 2 years ago with Type 2 diabetes so exercise is a key part of my health. I love to walk / run but I know that with the interval training I will not only see the results I want on my body but my blood sugar will be where it needs to be. The interval training is a great workout for me in the morning. Then in the evenings I can walk for stress relief and to just relax. I saw myself in your message yesterday about the woman who still tries to walk everyday for 2 hours - who has time for that? I enjoy your blogs and am glad that I found you on Facebook! Apple Cider Vinegar & Your Health

More than likely, you have some in your kitchen cabinets. Maybe you’ve used it for homemade salad dressings, marinades, or sauces. Or maybe you use it for cleaning purposes. For centuries people have used apple cider vinegar as an all-purpose cleaner, air freshener, and weed-killer. Some believe it even helps whiten teeth, treat acne, get rid of dandruff, or reduce signs of aging.

To make apple cider vinegar, yeast is added to apple juice. The yeast turns the juice sugars into alcohol through the fermentation process. Bacteria then turns the alcohol into acetic acid. This is why vinegar tastes and smells so strong. Left unfiltered, the yeast and bacteria in apple cider vinegar are called the “mother.”

These powerful probiotics provide antimicrobial and antioxidant effects.
In addition to its culinary and household uses, many people drink apple cider vinegar for the potential health benefits offered by these probiotics. Though some health benefits have little or no scientific backing, others have been studied and proven by science. Here are a few.

It Lowers Blood Sugar

If you have diabetes or pre-diabetes, you may want to add a little apple cider vinegar to your daily diet. Diabetes is marked by high blood sugar due to the body’s inability to produce insulin or respond to it correctly. Studies show that apple cider vinegar helps lower blood sugar levels and improve sensitivity to insulin after meals. Don’t have diabetes? You can still benefit from the stabilizing effect of apple cider on your blood sugar levels.

It Kills Bacteria

Apple cider vinegar has powerful antimicrobial properties. Because of this, it’s often used for cleaning and disinfecting wounds to speed healing. It’s also a common home remedy for treating warts, nail fungus, and ear infections. Before going to a doctor for a prescription to treat these conditions, try apple cider vinegar first.

It Aids Weight Loss

Okay, don’t get your hopes up. Apple cider vinegar isn’t the magic weight-loss potion you’ve been looking for. Studies do show, however, that it may help you lose weight. How? Drinking a small amount increases feelings of fullness. This causes you to end up eating less and therefore losing weight. The positive effect on blood sugar and insulin levels may also play a role in weight loss. One study followed people for three months and found that those who drank one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar each day lost 2.6 pounds. Those who drank two tablespoons a day lost 3.7 pounds.

It Promotes Skin Health

Suffer from dry skin or eczema? Then you may want to try applying diluted apple cider vinegar to your skin. Since your skin is slightly acidic, topical apple cider vinegar can help restore its natural pH and protect it from dryness. The antibacterial property of apple cider vinegar may even prevent infections from skin conditions like eczema. When diluted, you can use it as a face wash to kill bacteria that leads to acne. Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to work for everyone. And be careful when using vinegar on the skin. When undiluted, it can burn your skin.

It Improves Heart Health

Currently, a number of animal studies show apple cider vinegar’s positive effect on heart health. Researchers hope it could have the same effect on humans. What do the animal studies show about apple cider vinegar’s effects? That in animals, it may help lower cholesterol, blood pressure, and triglyceride levels—all major risk factors for heart disease. More research is needed to prove it’s effects on humans. If it is, this could be great news for your heart!
